Botox in Thousand Oaks
Botox (botulinum toxin type A) is a non-surgical injectable that temporarily treats wrinkles in the face. It is used primarily for addressing frown lines, crow’s feet wrinkles around the outside of the eyes, forehead creases, and bands in the neck. It can also be used cautiously for treating wrinkles around the mouth. No matter which area is treated, the effects are temporary, but treatments can be repeated as necessary.
Good Candidates
Botox is a nerve toxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles into which it is injected. This stops the muscle from being able to transmit its contraction to the overlying skin and thus decreases wrinkles in the treated area.
The ideal candidates are women and men who have wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows or around the corner of the eyes. These wrinkles should be accentuated by smiling, squinting, and frowning, indicating that they are due to the action of the underlying muscles.
